Free version of Freezerworks

BY Dr. Keith J. Kaplan

Dataworks Development, Inc. is now distributing its Freezerworks program at no charge.  The free offer is for standalone versions of Freezerworks 5.5 for both Windows and Macintosh.

According to Dataworks Development President Cheryl Michels, the no charge policy is the company’s way of celebrating its 20th year anniversary.

"Dataworks was founded to provide affordable and quality software to meet the needs of the research laboratory.  This year marks 20 years we’ve been in business.  The small research laboratory has kept us in business for all those years, and we wanted to find a way to both say thank you, and to give back to the research community for all it’s done, all it’s doing, and all it will do for all of us in the future."

"Over the last year, I’ve met hundreds of researchers all over the world who really like and need our software, but who don’t have the funds to buy it," said Rick Michels, Vice President for Sales and Marketing.  "In looking over our pricing structure, we simply decided, ‘what better way to get Freezerworks into these labs with limited funds than to offer it for free?’ "

The program is available by requesting it from the company website at www.freezerworks.com.

Freezerworks is a freezer inventory software program designed to give laboratories a quick way to enter and search for frozen and refrigerated samples.  The program is user configurable and designed to work for all freezers and tanks, providing sample security, 21 CFR part 11 compliance, cryogenic safe bar code labeling, user defined fields, searching, and more.   Freezerworks was developed and validated according to the FDA Guidelines for Software Development.
