It should be noted that not only will this provide a standard for vendors that manufacture slide scanners but also AP LIS vendors as well to interface with both the device as well as the PACS.
The next meeting in San Diego on 10/24/2010 (in conjunction with Pathology Visions) will have some LIS vendor representation and there will be presentations introducing DICOM, Supplements 122 and 145 and IHE Pathology.
