Indica Labs Release HALO™ – Next Generation Image Analysis

BY Dr. Keith J. Kaplan

Halo-130New Mexico, USA  9/30/2012 – Indica Labs, Inc. proudly
announces the availability of HALO™, the next generation image analysis platform
for digital pathology
.  HALO is
designed to be the fastest, most scalable, user-friendly image analysis software
the industry has witnessed.  The platform
seamlessly hosts Indica’s large portfolio of morphometric and colorimetric analysis
tools for neuroscience, metabolism, oncology, and toxicological pathology.

Following a successful beta program at the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research
in Cambridge, Massachusetts, HALO is now globally available through direct sales
channels and indirectly via select distributors.  The software can be licensed under both CapEx
and OpEx pricing models, including pricing options for multi-seat, site-wide,
and academic licenses.  For additional
pricing information, visit http://indicalab.com/product-halo.html.

Halo-screen1-130HALO excels in providing cell-by-cell results and features an
unprecedented level of interactivity between cell data and cell imagery, making
it ideally suited for quantification of cell-based immunohistochemistry (IHC)
and In Situ Hybridization (ISH)
assays.  Cell-by-cell analysis can be
performed across large studies involving thousands of whole slide images, or on
individual photomicrographs captured on a traditional microscope.  HALO’s modular design supports both affordable,
small-scale, desktop environments and high-throughput, multi-node, networked environments.

Despite HALO’s unmatched functionality and power, the
platform features a remarkably simple user interface that allows researchers to
quickly become comfortable and produce results within minutes.  Indica CEO, Steven Hashagen, remarked “HALO’s powerful feature- set and intuitive
design have been a long time in the making.
We’ve spent the past year-and-a-half working with thought leaders in the
industry to conceptualize what a next generation image analysis workstation
would look like and now we’re seeing those concepts to fruition.”
