Digital pathology is gaining momentum as a proven and essential technology that encompasses the steps of scanning, interpretation, manipulation, analysis, distribution, and management of whole slide images. These digital whole slide images can be used for a wide variety of purposes. Since there is such a range of topics related to digital pathology, the speakers at Pathology Visions have been divided into two tracks for their presentation: clinical and research/education

Between these two tracks of presenters, conference attendees will have the opportunity to earn up to 10.5 CME credits. Headlining the lineup of distinguished presenters is Dr. John Tomaszewski, who is currently the Professor and Chair of Pathology and Anatomical Sciences at the University of Buffalo. Tomaszewski’s specialty is genitourinary pathology and will be the focus of his presentation titled “Data Fusion and 21st Century Diagnostics”. Tomaszewski, like the other presenters at Pathology Visions, feels educating attendees about the evolutions in digital pathology is essential to the field’s advancement.

“Pathology Visions is about mapping out the future of digital pathology imaging. As such, this meeting is an ideal platform for discussing and refining the details of the inevitable transition to computational analytics in digital pathology. The new insights that will evolve from Pathology Visions 2012 will set the stage for the work of investigators and practitioners of digital pathology in the coming years,” said Tomaszewski.

Conference attendees will be brought up to speed on the latest enhancements in digital pathology not only by presenters at Pathology Visions, but also through participation in cutting edge workshops, roundtable discussions, networking events, and over 30 exhibitor displays.
