ESP LogoIn March 2013 the European Society of Pathology (ESP) in partnership with Globit invited ten leading digital pathology companies from across the globe to tender to become the ESP’s dedicated digital pathology provider. Following the submission, four companies were shortlisted for consideration and tension mounted at PathXL as we awaited the decision. In August 2013 the ESP made the announcement that PathXL had been selected as the winning bid.

Fred Bosman from ESP explains why they selected PathXL:

‘PathXL was chosen as the company was capable of providing a technologically advanced virtual microscopy platform that could be optimally integrated onto the ECP e-learning portal under development.

An additional element has been the mutually profitable working relationship that has developed over time through the Europals project and in which PathXL has proven to be capable of responding efficiently and effectively to their client’s needs.

PathXL will allow the ESP to continue to provide the ECP slide seminars at high quality online, and to optimally exploit virtual microscopy as an educational tool and proficiency testing instrument.’

PathXL is extremely proud to have been selected to work with the ESP as their sole digital pathology provider for this evolving educational resource. The collaboration will see PathXL work with the ESP/EAPCP alongside Globit to manage the annual progress tests and sub-speciality residency tests organised by the ESP.

Furthermore from 2014, PathXL are set become the Digital Pathology provider for the slide seminars for the annual ESP Congress meetings. Having come up against some tough competition in the bid this really is a fantastic achievement for the company and we are proud of the reputation we are building in both the pathology and digital pathology industry.
