Mikroscan Technologies, Inc. Announces New Financing and CEO Mikroscan, maker of advanced tele-microscopy systems, announced today that it closed a private financing in February 2015. The financing was led by Peter Farrell, Chairman and founder of ResMed, Inc (NYSE:RMD). He joins Gary Pace, a serial entrepreneur in life sciences, on the Board of Directors.
Concurrent with the financing, the company announced that Gregory Gruzdowich has joined Mikroscan as President & CEO. Mr. Gruzdowich has an extensive healthcare company background, including Eli Lilly & Company, Johnson & Johnson and Ohmeda. Mr. Gruzdowich was also the original VP Marketing for Pyxis, Inc, and later was the company’s CFO after its public offering. He was CEO of two additional private healthcare companies. Mr. Gruzdowich has a BS in chemical engineering from MIT and received his MBA from Stanford.
The company also announced the addition of Susan Feiner as CFO and Luis Malave as COO. Ms. Feiner has over 20 years of finance and accounting experience, serving previously as CFO for both IntelliDOT and Woodside Biomedical, both venture funded medical companies. Prior to that, she served as Director of Finance at Cypress Bioscience and held various financial management roles Pyxis, Inc. She began her career with Ernst & Young after obtaining her BBA from the University of San Diego.
Mr. Malave has over 25 years experience in the medical device industry. He served previously as CEO of privately held Palyon Medical and prior to that he was VP of R&D and COO for Insulet Corporation, a public medical device company that develops infusion pumps for diabetes care. Mr. Malave also held management and engineering positions at MiniMed Technologies (now Medtronic MiniMed). He received a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Minnesota and his MBA from the University of Maryland.
