Exhibiting in booth 104 at the College of American Pathologists (CAP) Annual Meeting Oct. 4-7 in Nashville, Inspirata will showcase how it is helping pathology departments leapfrog into the future with a fully automated workflow and integrated pathologists cockpit.

Inspirata, Inc. is a rapidly emerging leader in digital pathology that is changing the pathology paradigm by automating the pathology workflow leveraging innovative technologies and a unique Solution-as-a-Service business model. The company will be at the CAP meeting in Nashville next week, showcasing new functionality and new informed detection algorithms in its integrated pathologist cockpit.

Inspirata’s solution uses digital technology when and where it makes sense today—like tumor boards, consultations/second opinions, education and archiving/cataloging. It deploys high-throughput Philips slide scanners and employs skilled resources on premise to digitize both retrospective and prospective slides. The digital images can then be viewed by pathologists in Inspirata’s fully integrated cockpit with single sign-on access to comprehensive patient diagnostic data and images from the institution’s disparate systems. The cockpit also features collaboration, education and reporting portals, which enable pathologists to quickly prepare for tumor boards and easily catalog images for research and teaching sets. These applications enable pathologists to diagnose cancer more rapidly, collaboratively and cost effectively.

“While the digital image alone may not be faster than glass,” says Inspirata’s Executive Vice President and Founder Mark Lloyd, “a digital workflow can decrease the time to diagnosis by providing all of the information needed to render findings in one place, including collaboration tools to share slides and cases instantly”.

“We need to create ways for pathologists to spend more time doing what they do best, which is diagnosing disease,” says Inspirata CEO Satish Sanan. “Since computers are great at things like content-based image retrieval and computational image analysis, why not use them to do decision-support tasks like these instead of relying on time-consuming manual processes? This is why part of Inspirata’s comprehensive vision extends to leveraging digital images to build advanced quantifiable diagnostic, prognostic and predictive algorithm-based assays. We want to empower pathologists with computer vision information so they can do their jobs better and faster in order to enhance patient care and improve patient outcomes.”
