clive_taylorSUNNYVALE, CA –OptraSCAN, Inc. today announced that Dr. Clive Taylor has been appointed as OptraSCAN’s consulting Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Taylor has been a part of OptraSCAN’s Advisory Board helping to lead OptraSCAN into new markets and initiatives, including Cancer Moonshot 2020.

Dr. Clive Taylor is also Professor of Pathology at the University of Southern California and Editor-in-Chief of Applied Immunohistochemistry and Molecular Morphology. Professor Taylor’s primary research relates to advanced methods of diagnosis and treatment of cancer, by immunologic and molecular methods, with emphasis upon standardization and quantification. He has published more than 400 papers plus 20 books. Professor Clive Taylor attended medical school at the University of Cambridge and completed his doctoral studies in Immunology at Oxford. “I see digital pathology as the next logical step in microscopy. OptraSCAN is, in essence, an intelligent microscope, that will place a whole new range of objective analytical tools in the hands of the surgical pathologist, with radical improvements in what we do, and how we do it,” said Dr. Taylor.
