Peter will discuss how, “Computational Pathology will be a powerful driver of change in digital health and potentially improving diagnostic, prognostic and predictive pathology. Building powerful algorithms for tissue analytics allows quantitative and objective analysis of H&E tissue samples for a variety of interpretative challenges.
One such challenge is the evaluation of tumour cell content for molecular pathology. Visual estimation of percentage tumour nuclei shows gross variation between laboratories and between pathologists, potentially resulting in inaccurate molecular testing and next generation sequencing in research, discovery and routine molecular diagnostics.
