Real-World Examples of Practical Consultative/Collaborative Digital Pathology Programs
Wednesday, July 10 | 2 PM EST
A hybrid model may be key to introducing digital pathology into some smaller hospital practices whereby only a small percentage of daily cases are referred to external consultants using either robotic or whole slide imaging technologies. Because the volume of these referred cases is relatively low, the capital investment for this technology deployment for the “sending hospital” is also relatively low. The regulatory issues surrounding these secondary consultations are also less challenging. These regulations should not be viewed as a barrier for pathologists working in small hospitals who seek urgent consultation and support for challenging surgical pathology cases on a daily basis.
Two faculty members, Mark Tuthill, M.D. from Henry Ford Health System and Anil Parwani, M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, will discuss their experience using robotic and whole-slide imaging technologies to support both intra- and extra-health system consultative services. The former are critical for promoting internal efficiencies and the latter support the hybrid consultation model define above. They will provide tips about how to succeed in these ventures as well as achieving a maximum return-on-investment.
Registration to this webinar is free. If you are unable to attend the webinar, a recording will be made available to all DPA members. Click below to register now.
