Pixcelldata and VMscope Announce an Online Digital Pathology Solution for Automated Ki67 Quantification
Pixcelldata, the developer of Collibio, software for digital pathology collaboration, and VMscope, the award winning German virtual microscopy company, announce a collaboration for an online image analysis solution for automated Ki67 quantification.
This unique cloud based solution will have two main components, Collibio digital pathology software, and the VMscope Ki67 quantifier software. To use the VMscope Ki67 quantifier Collibio users select the tumor area from their whole slide or digital microscope image, and the Ki67 quantifier automatically detects the tumor cells, classifies them into positive and negative stained cells and exports the quantification results.
Kai Saeger, CEO, VMscope GmbH, says “VMscope has nine years experience in virtual microscopy and we were determined to develop our Ki67 quantifier solution as an easy to use solution. Our collaboration with Pixcelldata allows Collibio users access to the Ki67 quantifier from anywhere around the world.”
VMscope’s Ki67 quantifier makes image analysis affordable for even the smallest laboratory. “Our Ki67 quantifier performs automated segmentation and detection of cell nuclei in Ki67 stained slides and includes or excludes individual cell nuclei via a freehand selection. It also caters for a comprehensive range of image files, WSI formats and the Jenoptik C5 microscope camera in live mode,” says Kai Saeger.
“Pixcelldata is pleased to continue to develop our long-standing partnership with VMscope. We are very impressed with the one-click ease of use of VMscope’s new Ki67 quantifier and its comprehensive functionality and reports. The VMscope Ki67 quantifier is setting a new benchmark for image analysis software.” said Pixcelldata CEO, Alan Hanley.
