Nationally Recognized Pathologists to Provide Strategic Guidance

Comprised of a highly accomplished group of physicians from leading institutions across the country, the Advisory Board will share their extensive expertise in pathology operations and workflow, lab automation, regulatory requirements, clinician needs and pathology informatics important to XIFIN’s product development and strategic initiatives.

Dr. Thomas Bauer, Medical Director of ePathology, Department of Pathology, Cleveland Clinic. Specializing in orthopaedic pathology, Bauer is also the Deputy Editor of Research for The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, and participated on the Practice Guidelines Committee of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons for the Diagnosis of Periprosthetic Infections.

Dr. Michael Feldman, Associate Professor, Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Assistant Dean for Information Technology, Medical Director Pathology Informatics, Director Tumor Tissue Bank, University Pennsylvania Health Center. Focusing on the development, integration and adoption of information technologies in the discipline of pathology, Feldman has an interest in pathology imaging, including interactions between pathology and radiology, development of computer assisted diagnostic algorithms and automated immunohistochemical scoring.

Dr. David Frishberg, Vice Chair, Anatomic Pathology, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Specializing in dermatopathology, cytopathology and thyroid pathology, Frishberg has served as an active clinician and department or division director in military, community and academic settings. He was lead editor for the College of American Pathologists for the Performance Improvement Program in Surgical Pathology and the Digital Surgical Pathology Program.

Dr. Keith J. Kaplan, Pathologist. Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, Kaplan’s subspecialty interests include gastrointestinal and hepatic pathology, cytopathology and pathology informatics as well as research interests in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary pathology, hyperspectral imaging, image analysis and the use of Web 2.0 tools in pathology.

Dr. David McClintock, Medical Director, Pathology Informatics, University of Chicago Medicine. In addition to his pathology informatics duties, McClintock serves as the Medical Director of Point of Care Testing. Research interests include workflow analysis, digital pathology, decision support in pathology and pathology informatics education.

Dr. Anil Parwani, Professor of Pathology and Biomedical Informatics, Director of Division of Pathology Informatics, Department of Pathology, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. With a focus in genitourinary pathology and unusual variants of prostate carcinoma, Parwani also brings expertise in anatomical pathology informatics including design of quality assurance tools, tissue banking informatics, clinical and research data integration and mining, digital imaging, telepathology, image analysis and lab automation and workflow processes such as barcoding and voice recognition.

Dr. B. Alan Rampy, Assistant Professor, Pathology Education, University of Texas Medical Branch. Rampy’s focus in pathology education is driven by an interest in digital imaging, pathology informatics and online learning. An ongoing research project integrates these interests as a novel approach for delivering pathology educational material to educators and students.

Dr. Julie Wu, Pathologist. Specializing in dermatopathology, Wu pursued her medical education at Johns Hopkins University and her residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Following residency, she completed a surgical pathology fellowship at Stanford University, and a dermatopathology fellowship at New York University.
