College of American Pathologist CEO Takes Ice Bucket Challenge
On Wednesday, The PathologyBlawg shared College of American Pathologists 2013 financial information which highlighted several parts of the book of business of the college including revenue sources and amounts, expenses, donations & salaries of the president and board members from some public filings. There is some lively commentary on the post over at The PathologyBlawg if you are interested on what some CAP members (or soon to be former members) think of how the CAP runs its shop with regards to its main source of revenue (lab inspections) and its expenses including salaries, benefits and other forms of compensation paid to its senior leadership and staff.
On a lighter note, also on Wednesday of this week the CAP uploaded a video on YouTube of CEO Charles Roussel taking the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge that has spread through social media this summer raising over $94 million for the cause in the past month, compared with $2.7 million during the same time period last year (July 29 to August 27). The donations have come from existing donors and 2.1 million new donors according the the ALS Association website.
