ViewsIQ’s Digital Pathology Slide Imaging System Validated for Telepathology at Vancouver General Hospital in Recent Publication
ViewsIQ, a healthcare technology company, is pleased to announce the successful validation study of their interactive digital pathology imaging system, PanoptiqTM. The study, recently published in the International Journal of Laboratory Hematology, was conducted by the VGH hematopathology department to evaluate PanoptiqTM as a potential telehematopathology solution. The goal of the study was to determine whether diagnostic results achieved via Panoptiq’sTM real-time imaging approach to pathology imaging would provide diagnostic equivalence to that of traditional light microscopy.
The investigators examined 100 blood films, comprised of 5 major hematopathological disease categories. Through the simulation of a telepathology setting, Panoptiq’sTM real-time scanning function, described as live scanning in the study, performed with a remote diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of 0.99 and 1.00, respectively, when examining the 5 disease categories. The study concluded that PanoptiqTM may be utilized as a reliable telepathology tool to aid hematopathology examinations.
