LEICA BIOSYSTEMS EXPANDS INTEGRATION FOR CEREBRO WITH NOVOPATH LABORATORY INFORMATION SYSTEM
VISTA, CALIFORNIA, (December 18, 2014) – Leica Biosystems, a global leader in automation and workflow solutions for anatomic pathology, announced that it will partner with NovoPathTM, to seamlessly integrate Cerebro® Specimen Tracking from Leica Biosystems with the NovoPath Anatomic Pathology Laboratory Information System (APLIS). This integration builds on NovoPath’s support of Leica Biosystems labelers, stainers, and other histology equipment to provide an enhanced histology workflow.
Leica Biosystems and NovoPath’s solution will help to reduce human identification errors and identify problems before they lead to any patient safety risks. This integration will enable labs to electronically track samples from specimen receipt, all the way to result delivery. The integration will also provide necessary data to identify bottlenecks and improve workflow efficiency.
“NovoPath is committed to helping anatomic pathology labs increase operational efficiencies and enhance patient safety,” stated Rick Callahan, vice president of sales and marketing for NovoPath.
“Our customers demand that we improve integration of our products with their Laboratory Information Systems. This advancement is critical to the improvement of their overall workflow,” said Puneet Sarin, Leica Biosystems vice president and general manager for the Pathology Imaging Business. “Leica Biosystems is committed to providing turnkey integration. We are delighted to partner with NovoPath.”
