PathXL Software Platform Chosen by Intellectual Ventures Laboratory
‘High quality training relies on expert trainers as well as access to a comprehensive, validated set of microscope slides. Availability of both of these is limited.’
For this reason Intellectual Ventures Laboratory (IV Lab) and Global Good are developing a malaria microscopy e-learning tool to help address challenges in training and supporting proficient microscopy technicians, especially those in low-resource settings.
To make this initiative possible IV Lab and Global Good have chosen PathXL Software to deliver content for the Malaria Microscopy E-Learning Tool.
Working closely with IV Lab and Global Good, PathXL is supplying the PathXL Tutor and OLT platforms, as well as providing a newly developed standalone viewer as an extension to their existing platform, making it possible to deliver content to even the most remote regions of the world.
PathXL’s e-learning platform is used by over 40,000 undergraduate and postgraduate trainees worldwide, utilised by leading universities and training schools across the globe. This software will enable microscopy technicians to access images and improve their skills in malaria detection and should improve diagnostic quality, decreasing malarial illness and mortality.
