The Business Development Oncology Solutions Team has an exciting opportunity open for you to enable the adoption of new business models and high medical value solutions for Digital Pathology within the Australian market, assisting in the achievement of Roche Diagnostics Australia’s (RDA) overall vision and goals.
As the Business Development Manager you will contribute to the RDA Business Development strategy, objectives, key results and enabling activities with the view of enabling a blueprint for the success of new products and services with the goal of better patient outcomes, clinician benefit and health system benefit.
You will be responsible for the overall vision for the emerging portfolio of Roche Diagnostics Digital Pathology. This vision will undertake aspects that will ensure adoption into the customer’s ecosystems and you will be creating go-to-market plans for new solutions, enhancements and new market segments/commercial models.
Excitingly you will be part of the Access and Innovation Community who’s ethic is all about innovations and their adoption for future healthcare. Access and Innovation are a high performing, accountable and collaborative team including chapters of Business Development, Market Access and Medical Affairs . It will be imperative that you will form close working relationships across RDA and in particular with Sales and Marketing Communities to support in-market activities of digital pathology with the breadth of the Roche Diagnostics portfolio.
Responsibilities include but may not limited to:
- Enables the adoption of new business models and high medical value solutions within the Australian market to assist in achievement of RDA’s overall vision and goals.
- Establishes strong and enduring KOL, industry associations, interest groups and enabling organisations relationships
- Screens and assesses external proposals to determine business viability
- Ensures teams are proactively researching and identifying potentially appropriate business development (BD) opportunities for the assigned division and business areas
- Oversees and manages preparation of recommendations on proposals that cover strategic, technical, financial, commercial and legal aspects, involving the respective business areas
- With team, uses market/business understanding and market intelligence via networks of internal and external resources to identify, evaluate and secure options for growth, consistent with strategic objectives
- Ensures team develops strategic rationale and sound financial analysis for opportunities
- Works with team and finance to prepare acquisition cases, including planning and implementing due diligence and leading integration work streams
- Leads or participates in other strategic projects. Provide subject matter expertise and support to applicable business areas as needed
- Selects, develops, and evaluates employees to ensure the efficient operation of the function

To be successful in this position you will possess extensive market knowledge coupled with entrepreneurial flair, curiosity, creativity, resilience and tenacity and able to demonstrate:
- High levels of business development and/or sales proficiency and 5+ years industry specific experience.
- A proven track record in a highly competitive and changing environment (especially at a national level) within the medical industry
- Demonstrated continuous learning orientation, particularly around new applications, medical developments and healthcare industry standards
- Experience in Anatomical Pathology workflow, Digital Pathology algorithm technology and oncology patient journeys would be an advantage
- Solid knowledge of Healthcare IT systems (including enterprise-wide software and/or cloud based SAAS solutions) and communications protocols would be an advantage
- Outstanding communication, documentation and facilitation skills, capable of conducting detailed discussions with clinical and lab professionals
- Ideally have experience of successfully working in a matrix environment.
- Ideally you will have demonstrated strength in agile working principles and methodologies
- A growth mindset with the ability to think and plan strategically
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to set and manage budgets
- High computer literacy and technical ability
- Ability to travel interstate and internationally as required
