Indica Labs: Versant Diagnostics Selects HALO AP® Platform to Deploy Digital Pathology Across a Network of Laboratories

HALO AP® will be deployed at laboratory locations across the USA after initial deployment at the Versant Diagnostics’ location in Maine.

Albuquerque, NM and Grapevine, TX, February 4, 2025 – Indica Labs, the global leader of AI-powered digital pathology and Versant Diagnostics, an independent physician services company and proponent of next-generation digital pathology, announce today that Versant Diagnostics has chosen the HALO AP® platform from Indica Labs to further support their mission of helping world leading pathologists transition from conventional pathology to cutting edge digital technology. Versant Diagnostics’ deployment of HALO AP® and their use of laboratory developed tests (LDTs) will revolutionize the pathology workflow, leading to quicker diagnostic turnaround times, faster treatment initiation, and improved patient care. While HALO AP® will initially be deployed at a single laboratory in Maine, Versant Diagnostics plans to implement HALO AP® at each of their laboratory locations in the USA.  

HALO AP® is an AI-powered, pathologist-driven digital pathology platform that enables primary diagnosis and other routine workflows in anatomic pathology. The platform is CE-IVDR marked and has all the tools pathologists need to conduct accurate, standardized diagnostic evaluations in a future-ready environment capable of deploying off-the-shelf, third-party AI and image analysis tools. In addition, HALO AP® streamlines second opinion requests and consultations, and facilitates management of clinical trials within a unified platform.  

In addition to using HALO AP® as an LDT for primary diagnosis, Versant Diagnostics will use the HALO AP® platform to virtually collaborate with pathologists regardless of geographical location, allowing world-renowned pathologists to work remotely and achieve an improved work-life balance.

Versant Diagnostics selected HALO AP® alongside the Aperio GT 450 DX scanners from Leica Biosystems for their quality, performance, and usability. Their digital pathology user experience will be optimized with a cloud-based deployment of HALO AP® hosted in Amazon Web Services (AWS) which is fully managed by AWS certified HALO experts of Indica Labs’ Cloud Services team. In addition, data from LIS | LIMS systems will be seamlessly integrated into HALO AP® creating a single viewing platform perfect for primary diagnosis, consultations, and collaborations with fellow pathologists.
