BioImagene launches new scanner and next generation of software at USCAP
While I am not attending USCAP this week, in recent years BioImagene has rolled out new products at USCAP often with a flare – large booths with their full suite of products and scheduled unveilings at the meeting.
WASHINGTON – (Business Wire) BioImagene, Inc., the leading provider of end-to-end digital pathology solutions, announced today the iScan Coreo Au digital slide scanner and the newest version of Virtuoso software. The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ajit Singh, unveiled both products at BioImagene’s Booth 101, in front of a packed audience at the annual meeting of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP).
These new products from BioImagene represent the most advanced digital pathology technology in the industry today. The iScan Coreo Au is a high-speed scanner that enables digital pathology applications such as image analysis, telepathology, remote microscopy, and education. The iScan Coreo Au allows walk-away scanning of up to 160 slides, and includes several other features including an automated turret with multiple objectives, volume scan (z-stacked) images with multiple planes, and iScan Coreo Au Live, an application supporting remote microscopy and collaboration.
Virtuoso uses state-of-the-art Web technology to transform the viewing experience for pathologists. It is the only digital pathology software in the industry today to offer users Companion Algorithms™ for a complete breast, prostate, and colon panel. Some of the unique features in Virtuoso include work-list management, real-time collaboration between users, and the fastest viewing experience.
Dr. Ajit Singh, Chief Executive Officer of BioImagene said, “Speed is the single most important factor that will accelerate adoption of Digital Pathology. The launch of iScan Coreo Au and Virtuoso is a key milestone for the industry: it unequivocally takes the speed of scanning and viewing to benchmark levels. This, along with our rapidly expanding set of over 100 Companion Algorithms, has persuaded most of the top hospitals in the U.S. to select iScan and Virtuoso to support their pathologists.”
BioImagene focuses on end-to-end digital pathology solutions, and its suite of products also include the innovative iSlide input device and the Crescendo digital pathology workstation. The entire suite of solutions can be viewed at USCAP from March 22-24, 2010, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.
