Indica Labs Announces Webinar for Late June

BY Erica Goodpaster

indica labsIndica Labs: Learn about the pretrained and untrained AI models and AI tools available in HALO 4.0

Masterclass Webinar: Optimizing AI-based Nuclear and Membrane Segmentation in HALO® and HALO AI

Date: 27 June 2024
Time: 8:00 – 9:00 PDT | 11:00 – 12:00 EDT | 16:00 – 17:00 BST
Location: Webinar

Join Indica Labs for this 1-hour webinar to see a live demonstration of the HALO® image analysis platform focused on Indica Labs’ pretrained and untrained AI nuclear and membrane segmentation models. This webinar will demonstrate how all HALO users, even without the HALO AI Add-on, will be able to leverage Indica Labs’ pretrained AI models for superior cell nuclei and cell membrane segmentation. Spencer Revill, a Field Application Scientist at Indica Labs, will show how to use these models in conjunction with cell analysis modules, both in brightfield and fluorescent modalities. Spencer will also demonstrate how users who do possess the HALO AI Add-on can utilize these models in their untrained states for outside-the-box approaches, such as specialized tissue segmentation.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn about the pretrained AI models being made available to all HALO® users in the latest 4.0 release
  • Learn how to access the untrained AI models, enabling highly customizable training for objects besides cell nuclei and cell membranes
  • Learn about some of the latest features added to HALO AI such as the AI annotation tool, AI Training Sessions, and new AI Import functionality

Presenter

Spencer Revill, MSc
Field Applications Scientist
Indica Labs

Spencer earned his Bachelor of Technology (BTech) specializing in Biotechnology in 2018 from McMaster University, after which he managed a core facility for two years making TMAs, performing slide scanning, and analyzing histology using HALO®. He then pursued his master’s degree in medical sciences, using HALO to explore lung pathology and create a composite index to assess the severity of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and co-authored 14 publications. After graduating with a master’s in science (MSc) in July of 2022, he became Indica Labs’ first Canadian Applications Scientist where he provides applications support for HALO, HALO AI and HALO Link.
