HALO 4.4 New Features
- Improved fluorescent channel management
- Sort and search channels
- Create, save and load channel groups
- Adjust black-in and white-in values directly from the channel list
- Autofit view settings button accessible from the channel list
- Object Data Gallery
- View high-magnification examples of detected objects for fast quality control with easy reference to associated object data values
- General performance improvements with faster annotation and object data loading and smoother viewer experience
- Quality of life improvements
- Ability to edit image file paths when HALO images are moved or renamed on storage
- Navigate to study from the image tab
- Search and batch delete TMA blocks
- Lossless compression of ome.tiff markups to preserve the full fidelity of information stored in HALO and interoperability with downstream analysis outside of HALO
HALO Module Updates
The 4.4 release includes updates to the Multiplex IHC and Highplex FL modules, including adjustable membrane thickness and ability to control post-processing on the module side for embedded AI segmentation modules. Additional enhancements include Threshold Assist compatibility for brightfield images and new object data outputs for nuclear and cellular morphology, signal OD/intensity heterogeneity, and Haralick texture features. Highplex FL also delivers improved performance when users autofill dyes along with faster addition and removal of dyes, even for images with hundreds of channels.
HALO AI 4.4 New Features
- Introducing two new architectures
- Added support for the UNet++ architecture for masking classifier development
- Introducing Object Phenotyper V2 based on EfficientNet to improve phenotype classifier development
- Performance improvement and stability features
- Option for mixed precision both in training and inference mode that reduces GPU memory (VRAM) usage while accelerating model execution, enabling faster analysis turnaround time
- Classifier-generated annotations are optimized by reducing complexity while preserving biological relevance. This change improves performance across annotation-based workflows, including:
- Classifier-to-Annotation workflow
- AI Annotation Tool
- Object Phenotyper Highlighter
- Core platform libraries have been updated to improve performance, stability, and long-term compatibility
HALO Link 4.4 New Features
- Streamlined installer for HALO Link-only environments with better notification of license expiration
- Updated channel intensity adjustments and autofit in Advanced FL Settings
- Improved study tree navigation with Collapse All option to view only root-level studies and maintaining location on study tree when navigating between viewer and study image grid
- Metadata-focused sorting in trays
- Improved Diagnostic Monitor visualization and option to save findings
