Bye Bye 88305 Sung to American Pie

Somehow in the excitement of greater than 52% cuts to the technical component of the biopsy code and an overall 30% reduction in reimbursement I missed this humorous song about pathology fee codes and decreasing reimbursement. A parody of American Pie uploaded in March of this year.

Produced and sung by Dr. Joel Greenson from the University of Michigan with colleagues from Cleveland Clinic and other laboratories.

While in-office laboratories that are referenced in the song have slowed down a bit in terms of new labs opening, few, if any, have shuttered their doors & dermatologists and gynecologists with active biopsy practices appear to be on the rise for in-sourcing histology services, despite the lowered reimbursement.
