Obviously, there is a tight link between digital pathology technology and both pathology and specimen workflow (see: Digital Pathology Offered as a Service Rather Than a Product). Time also needs to be allocated after the sectioning and staining process for whole slide scanning but this can often be accomplished on a just-in-time basis. With digital pathology, pathologists no longer need to be shackled to their microscopes and can review images almost anywhere. Speciality consultations from colleagues can also be acquired instantly. If the archival slide library is digitized, review of prior cases can be quickly performed.
As in prior years of the webinar series, the 2015-2016 API-Sunquest webinar series will consist of eight or nine lectures extending from this Fall until May, 2016.
